I have heard it said recently that, if you are a believer in Christ, when God looks at you He sees Jesus.
So, are we saying that if you are lifted up in pride that God doesn't see that because you believe in Jesus and therefore He sees Jesus and grants you grace even though you are full of pride. I don't think so.In 1Pet 5:5 it is written that God grants grace to the humble but He resists the prideful.
The way you will get grace is if, in His goodness, He leads you to repentance, and that will be by His Holy Spirit, and you humble yourself under His mighty hand (1Pet 5:6) and He has mercy on you. He sees you my friend, and He loves you. Jesus promised that we shall give account, in the day of judgement, for every idle word we have spoken. Every man will be rewarded according to his works.
1Pe 1:13-21: Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear; Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your Fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
Also 1Pet 3:12: For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
The Apostle Peter ends this epistle in vs. 5:12 saying: "...I have written briefly, exhortiing and testifying that this is the true grace of God."
Repent and Believe the Gospel!
REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL!
Jesus said,"The time is fullfilled and the Kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe the Gospel" The Gospel is that the Word of God became a man; Jesus, the only begotten of the Father, the Son of God, full of grace and truth, and lived in this world with every temptation that you and I face, and yet He never sinned and He gave himself to die on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. God made Him who knew no sin to become sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. He was buried in a tomb, and on the third day the Father raised Him from the dead. He was seen of above 500 witnesses after He arose and He ascended to the right hand of the Father in heaven. He is there right now, alive, making intercession on our behalf to the Father. He is coming again with all the saints and all the angels in great power and glory and all who live and believe in him will be united with him and thus will we ever be with the Lord. I urge you to seek Him now, during this time while the long suffering of God is waiting, for the Day of the Lord is coming soon. He loves you and He will save you to the utter most if you will put your trust in Him.
