The Name of Jesus
Acts 3:16, And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
So, you are going to write and perform a beautiful song, or preach a lovely message, all about the good things which Jesus has done, and who He is, and you’re not even going to mention His name?! His name is Jesus! As the Apostle Peter said to the lame man at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple that day, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I to you; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk! ...And he leaping up stood and walked, and entered with them into the Temple, walking and leaping, and praising God!
Jesus said, And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
He also said, Wherever two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst. If you gather together and you’re ashamed to mention His name, you have no part with Him. He is not in your midst. When you are obeying Him, loving Him, keeping His Words, going where He wants you to go, speaking what He wants you to speak, doing what He leads you to do by His Holy Spirit, you are in His name. His name has great authority! Because He humbled Himself to the death of the Cross, that brutal Cross at Golgotha, to suffer and die for our sins, the Father has given Him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, in Heaven, on the Earth, and under the Earth, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father, who raised Him from the dead by His mighty power, and set Him at His own right hand in the Heavenly places, far above all principality, power, and might, and gave Him to be the Head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all.
The reason you won’t mention His name is because you are in rebellion and sin and you want to have all His blessings that are given you in Him, but you don’t want to obey Him and glorify the Father. His name is Jesus Christ of Nazareth! King of Kings! Lord of Lords! Prince of peace! The Everlasting Father! He said everyone who is ashamed of Him and of His Words, He will be ashamed of them when He comes, He’s coming soon, in all the Glory of the Father, with all the Heavenly angels, to receive unto Himself His people, and those who love Him and are not ashamed of His Glorious Name will be with Him forever. Jesus said, How can you believe which receive honor one of another and seek not the honor that comes from God only.
