Past, Present, and Future
When you say, all my sins are forgiven, past, present, and future, you are saying that your future sins, which have not yet been committed, are already forgiven, without repentance, and without confessing them to God. As I have said before, if a sin has not been committed it does not exist. Therefore it is impossible to repent of it and to confess it to God. If you say they are already forgiven you are doing away with repentance and confession to God as requirements for receiving his forgiveness. Godly sorrow works repentance. There must be godly sorrow working repentance and confession to God of our sins in order for our hearts to be able to receive the true grace of God through the sacrifice of his Son on the Cross. If there is not a change of our hearts then we are continuing in a condition in which those same sins will continue to manifest in our lives. Jesus said that it is what is in our hearts that comes out of our mouths which defiles us. So we will be therefore continuing in a state of defilement and it will be impossible for us to attain holiness, without which we will not see the Lord.
