What Are You Doing?
Greetings in the name of Jesus! This is Rob Haymes. This is 15 Minutes With Jesus. Wherever two or three are gathered together in My name, Jesus said, there am I in the midst of them. To those of you who love Him in truth: mercy unto you and peace and love be multiplied. (Jude 1:2)
Thank you Lord, Amen; thank you Lord, Amen. Praise you Father! We praise you Father! Thank you for this day. Thank you Jesus; thank you for this program that you have given me. We ask your blessing on this program; that you would bless your people: all of us; to hear what you are saying by your Spirit and to understand. Thank you Lord, in Jesus’ name. Thank you Father, Amen.
Today’s program is called What Are You Doing. Let’s turn to Mat 7:21, Jesus said, Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness! In the King James it says, You who work iniquity. Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.
Jesus came and died to take away our sins and to make us righteous. Let’s turn to 1 John 3:1, Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. This is talking about practicing sin; continuing in sin. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins, or practices sin, is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, or practice sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
Rom 6:15, What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
John 8:31, Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered Him, We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, You will be made free? Jesus answered them, Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. If you are a slave of sin, you are not free; you are in bondage. Jesus came to set you free from your bondage; to set you free from your bondage to sin and the devil.
Because the Father and Jesus gave us the greatest love; the greatest gift: eternal life, through Jesus’ sacrifice, we ought to lay down our lives for them, and love them with all our hearts every day forever. This is love: that we do their Words. Greater love has no man than this, Jesus said, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatsoever I command you.
What are you doing? Are you doing what you want? Are you doing the will of the Father at all? Are you reading the Word of God and doing it? Are you praying? It is not what you know, or what scripture you can quote, but rather, it’s your love; who you love, and what you love, and what you are doing. Are you doing good, or are you doing evil? Jesus clearly said that He is going to give unto everyone of us according to our works. In Rev 2, verse 23, He said that. He also said, in Rev 2&3, I know your works. He knows our works. He loves us. He said there, those that I love , I rebuke and chasten, be zealous, therefore and repent. He is going to give unto every one of us according to our works: what we have done, not what we believe or know, and what we have said. Do you believe that Jesus said, that every man will give an account for every idle word that he has spoken; He said that. I think that’s one of those verses we tend to ignore. But there’s no problem: you can humble yourself before Him and say, Lord, I’ve spoken many wicked things. Forgive me now; forgive me, and get ahold of my tongue; change my speech; help me, Lord. He will answer.
Are you forgiving? Are you giving? Are you showing mercy? Are you doing unto others, in situations, what you would have them do to you? Or are you just yielding to wrath or strife or lust; the works of your own flesh. It is plainly written, in Rom 8, that if you live this way, after your flesh, you will die (eternally). But if you have love and gratitude to God, for how He has loved you, and you are putting to death those things in your flesh, believing the work of the Cross in your life, through repentance and faith, by the Holy Spirit, you will live. Rom 8:12, Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. As you yield to the Holy Spirit , in the situation, to do the Words of God, you will be putting to death those works of the flesh, Amen; you will overcome.
When you yield to your flesh; when you sin against someone, in the situation, if you will not harden your heart, but, rather, yield to the conviction of the Holy Spirit: that you have sinned against your brother or sister or anyone, and you go to them and confess your fault, in true repentance to them, and to God, you will be forgiven and cleansed by the Blood of Jesus, of that sin, and you can walk on with a clear conscience, in true love, not feigned love. That’s walking in the light. That’s doing His Word, and as you continue with Jesus in His Word, you will overcome those things in your flesh. They will be put to death as you believe what took place when Jesus died on the Cross for your sins, and rose again for your justification. So you see, it’s not just believing the Gospel, but it’s believing and doing His Word. Jesus said, If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, even as I keep My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
What are you doing? Are you being led by the Holy Spirit every day? Are you denying yourself; taking up your cross, where you suffer for doing the will of the Father, and yielding to the Holy Spirit, as He leads you to follow Jesus and do the Father’s will. Don’t think you won’t be rewarded! If you will deny yourself, your own desires, and yield to God to do His will, and keep His Words, and continue with Him, all your days, you will be rewarded, according to your good works, with the honor of God, and you will inherit whatever He has prepared for you in His Kingdom. But if you choose to deny His will and do what you want, seeking to gratify your own desires, your love of yourself and your pleasures, you will be rewarded according to your evil works, when you stand before Him. And you will stand before Jesus in that day. You will be greatly grieved when He shall say to you, Depart from Me into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels, all you who work iniquity. He will recount to you then those situations when you had opportunity to do good; when you had opportunity to repent and turn from your wicked ways, and you would not. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
So consider now, what you are doing. Don’t believe the false prophets who are lying to you, telling you, It doesn’t matter; it’s all covered. That is a lie, straight from Satan. You will be judged for what you have done, all of us will, good or evil. The true grace of God is available to you now, through Jesus Christ, to depart from the evil in your life; to overcome it, and to do good. Ask. Jesus said, Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened. Ask for grace to do His Words; seek after His righteousness and you shall be filled.
