The Synagogue Of Satan

Greetings in the name of Jesus! This is Rob Haymes. This is 15 Minutes With Jesus. Today’s program is called The Synagogue Of Satan. Let’s turn to Rev 2:1-29, To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God. And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death. And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword: I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it. And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 

And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations; he shall rule them with a rod of iron, they shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels, as I also have received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. 

Rev 2:9, I know your works, tribulation, and poverty, but you are rich; and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. The word synagogue, in the Greek, refers to an assembly of persons. The Jews are the people of God who truly praise the Lord. In these verses Jesus is referring to the people of God; they say they are Jews, but they are not; they say they are the people of God, but they are not. Let’s turn to Rom 2:28&29,  For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God. The real Jews are those that love God from their heart, and they obey Him from the heart, and they follow Jesus wherever He goes, wherever He leads them.  The real Jews are those that worship God in Spirit and in truth, and have no confidence in the flesh. I know the blasphemy of those that say they are Jews and are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan. Let’s turn to 2 Cor 11:12-15, But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast. 

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers, did you hear that?, his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. Here the Apostle Paul plainly says that Satan has ministers. These are the ministers of the synagogues of Satan; the gatherings of people who say they are of God, but they are not. Their works prove that they are not. Rev 2:2, I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars. These people are liars. They lie. They say they are apostles, but they are not, and their works testify that they are not. Rev 2:4&5,  Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. What was Jesus so concerned about here with the Church in Ephesus about their first love? The word “first” there is foremost, it means most important; your most important love, your foremost love. What would that be? That’s our love for Jesus. Jesus said, If you love Me you will keep my Words; you will continue in my Word; you will be my disciple indeed; you’ll know the truth, and the truth will make you free. You won’t be compromising, disobeying, twisting, perverting my Words. You’ll be continuing in my Words, and in my works. Jesus knows the blasphemy of those who say they are his people, who say they are the people of God and are not, but are actually the assembly of Satan. In 1 John 3:7&8 we read,  Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil; he who practices sin, continues in sin, will not repent, is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. We read in Revelation 2 about the Church in Thyatira; that the Lord gave that Jezebel space to repent, and she would not repent. And so it is today with these false apostles, false pastors, false ministers, ministers of Satan, and their houses of worship, so called, which are synagogues of Satan; and there are many people in these churches that are not the people of God; they say they are but they are not. And they have been given space to repent; the Lord is giving people space to repent, and they will not repent. It’s just like Jesus said in John chapter 3, Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. This is the condemnation: Men and women condemn themselves when they will not repent. Remember, Jesus said, repent!; repent, and do the first works!; repent and love Jesus!; repent and love Him and keep his Words, and seek to please Him!; not love your pleasures, your lusts, your wickedness, your money. Love Him!; love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and serve Him! These people are not doing that. They’re loving their pleasures; they’re loving their evil deeds. That’s why they won’t come out into the light. And they twist the Word of God, as Peter said; they twist the Words of the Apostle Paul to their own destruction, to try to justify their wicked doctrines. These are people of Satan. They are liars. They are not the people of God.

Jesus made a way for us to overcome. He made a way for us. In Rev 12:11, And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. By believing in Him, believing his sacrifice for us, righteousness is imputed to us. If we will remain faithful to Him, full of faith, even unto death, He will give us a crown of life. Rev 2:26, And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end; loving Jesus, keeping his Words, doing his works unto the end. Turn to 2 Cor 6:16-18, And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. Chapter 7, verse 1, Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. If you are in one of these so called churches, come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean and I will receive you. Cleanse yourself from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. The Word of God says, Holiness, without which no man will see the Lord. God is holy! His people are holy. He sanctifies us through the Word of God by the Holy Spirit; the washing of the water of the Word. We should be after this with all our heart; to be cleansed of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. In 1 Cor 6:9&10 it is written, Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the Kingdom of God. And such were some of you, but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, by the Spirit of our God. 1Co 6:19&20,  Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. Jesus Christ bought you with his own precious, pure Blood; He bought you with his Blood; He loved you and washed you from your sins in his own Blood, and you belong to Him! You are not your own. You must love Him! You must turn away from all self love and selfishness, and seeking your own pleasures, your own gratification, and seek Him! Seek to please Him! Seek to please the Father! Live for Him! You are not your own! You are dead, and your life is hid with God in Christ! Don’t let these false prophets, false apostles deceive you any longer! They deceive you with lying words. They are liars. They are false. Don’t get caught up with those who say they are the people of God and are not, but they continue in their sins, and are the people of Satan. Come out from among them and be separate! Don’t be deceived by vain words! Eph 5:6&7, Let no one deceive you with empty words for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
